"Those who take action for kosen-rufu are Bodhisattvas of the Earth. The Daishonin tells us that these bodhisattvas possess the four noble virtues of the Buddha—eternity, happiness, true self, and purity.
“'Eternity' means that the state of Buddhahood inherent within Buddhas and all living beings abides eternally throughout the three existences—past, present, and future.
“'Happiness' is a state of tranquility free from suffering.
"'True self' means that Buddhahood is our true and intrinsic nature, an independent, indestructible strength.
“'Purity' means that no matter how corrupt and polluted the age, our lives function purely, like a clear, flowing spring.
"By establishing a life state imbued with eternity, happiness, true self and purity—a state born from our resolve and efforts to selflessly spread the Mystic Law —we can genuinely 'enjoy ourselves at ease.'
