"Just as the Daishonin indicates when you stand up in faith based on the correct teaching of Nichiren Buddhism, you can bring the light of happiness and peace to everyone in your life and society, now and into the future. Please have absolute confidence in this."

"'I vowed to summon up a powerful and unconquerable desire for the salvation of all beings and never to falter in my efforts.

"'It is already over 20 years since I began proclaiming my doctrines. Day after day, month after month, year after year I have been subjected to repeated persecutions. Minor persecutions and annoyances are too numerous even to be counted, but the major persecutions number four.'

"The Daimoku of Nam-myoho-renge-kyo, which Nichiren Daishonin chanted for the first time, is the great beneficial medicine that enables all living beings to attain Buddhahood. After proclaiming his teaching (on April 28th, 1253), the Daishonin endured a series of life-threatening persecutions to open the great path to enlightenment into the eternal future of the Latter Day of the Law.

"Committed to fulfilling our vow as Bodhisattvas of the Earth, we can reveal the same invincible life state as the Daishonin to overcome all challenges and difficulties.

"Powerfully chanting Nam-myoho-renge-kyo, which draws forth the Buddha nature in all people, let's continue making unremitting efforts to realise the Daishonin's ideal of 'establishing the correct teaching for the peace of the land,' together with our fellow members throughout the world."

Traffic safety must always

  weigh deeply on our minds.
"Distractive driving"

  (such as talking on the phone, 

  texting, etc..) is not tolerated.
Let's always uphold 

  fundamental traffic laws 

  complying with the speed limits, etc..

Absolutely accident free 

  has to be our top priority.

"'Think of this, think of this, never let your mind stray, be firm in faith at all times, and you will "enjoy peace and security in your present existence and good circumstances in future existences"'

"These are the closing words from a letter in which Nichiren Daishonin explains to his young disciple Nanjo Tokimitsu how to repay one's debt of gratitude [including to one's parents and all living beings].

"This is the ultimate form of conviction. It enables us to remain undaunted in the face of any hardship. Faith is a source of unlimited hope. It gives us the strength to combat any adversity.

"Let's keep chanting Nam-myoho-renge-kyo about each of our problems and challenges, and bring forth the wisdom to change poison into medicine.

"Persevering with firm faith, let's repay the debt of gratitude we owe our parents and bring peace and security to society through the boundless power of the Mystic Law."

Hope you don't mind my doing this BUT I have added you back on the SGI To My Friends Mailing List which I sent to you before. In mid-December last year you may recall we were experiencing serious problems with Yahoo Groups they suddenly changed things with very little explanation of what was going to happen. And then crashed! When they did reappear there were changes that put your privacy in danger so we stopped using Yahoo. We have now regrouped in Google Groups with a more advanced service and better security. We are now 100 people/day adding everyone back - Google limits! - and previously we sent you an invitation but you obviously did not see it so we are adding you directly. If this is not OK or you just don't want to receive it click on the unsubscribe click of any mail or drop me a line on sjlmg28@gmail.com and I will take you off hopefully within 24 hours!
