Chanting Nam-myoho-renge-kyo 

is fundamental to everything.
"Morning after morning 

  we rise up with the Buddha,
evening after evening 

  we lie down with the Buddha."*
By bringing forth powerful life force 

in our hearts,
let's lead each and every day 

with a victorious rhythm!

*Now Nichiren and his followers, who chant Nam-myoho-renge-kyo, are persons who "lodge in the same place as the Thus Come One." Therefore, Fu Ta-shih says in his commentary, "Morning after morning we rise up with the Buddha, evening after evening we lie down with the Buddha. Moment by moment we attain the way, moment by moment we reveal our true identity."

In contrast to other forms of competition, he explained: 'The goals of humanitarian competition are not solely self-interested, but consist of striving to protect and improve both our own and others' lives. In other words, it means choosing ways that serve and benefit others and that benefit us as well. It means engaging consciously in a collaborative life."**

"The important thing is to make use of the power deep within us and keep moving forwards with wisdom and strength.

"Right now, the entire world is facing a great crisis due to the unprecedented Covid-19 pandemic. But even the black plague, the epidemic that ravaged Europe in the 14th century, once overcome, lead to the Renaissance, a great cultural revival and rebirth. Such is the history of humanity—responding to each crisis with courage and wisdom and rising to new heights.

The Daishonin teaches us:
"Those who chant 

Nam-myoho-renge-kyo are
(themselves the treasure tower, 

and, likewise, are) themselves the 

Thus Come One Many Treasures."*
All of our pioneer members 

are the ones who have truly proven 

the power of the Mystic Law!
Having great pride in our 

Soka "fathers and mothers,"
let's share this Buddhism 

and its philosophy 

with as many people as we can,

with the conviction to build a society 

where all people can savour
peace and security.

*"In the Latter Day of the Law, no treasure tower exists other than the figures of the men and women who embrace the Lotus Sutra. It follows, therefore, that whether eminent or humble, high or low, those who chant Nam-myoho-renge-kyo are themselves the treasure tower, and, likewise, are themselves the Thus Come One Many Treasures. No treasure tower exists other than Myoho-renge-kyo. The daimoku of the Lotus Sutra is the treasure tower, and the treasure tower is Nam-myoho-renge-kyo."

"Through the efforts of those who stand up in an age when the teaching and time align, Buddhism becomes a truly living religion. By the same principle, Nichiren Buddhism has spread around the world due to the appearance of the Soka Gakkai, the organisation carrying out the Buddha's intent.

"Amid the unprecedented challenges of the coronavirus pandemic, Soka Gakkai members everywhere are deepening their prayers for the peace and security of their land. chaotic age like now,
let's open up the way, 

through our sincere behaviour,
the path to creating a better world!

practicing "humanistic diplomacy!"

*"Third, treating one's friends with courtesy means that, although one may encounter them ten or twenty times in the course of a single day, one greets them courteously as though they had travelled a thousand or two thousand miles to see one, never showing them indifference."

"It was the Ikegami family who hosted the Daishonin on that final visit to Masashino. The two Ikegami brothers had weathered the ordeal of the elder being disinherited twice by their father, who had been negatively influenced by self-serving priests hostile towards the Daishonin. The brothers went on to show brilliant actual proof of victory, thereby repaying in part the profound debt they owed their mentor.

"During their hardships, the Daishonin had written to them: 'Now more than ever, you must neither show nor feel any fear.... You must grit your teeth and never slacken in your faith" (cf.WND–1, 498). The Ikegami brothers were roused to action and successfully overcame their troubles. The Daishonin praised their victory achieved through unity: 'Could there ever be a more wonderful story than your own [that will be recounted by future generations]?' (cf.WND–1, 499).

"The faith of the women of the Ikegami family was especially strong. The Daishonin commended them as well, predicting that they would 'become a model for women attaining Buddhahood in the evil latter age' (WND-1, 502)."
