-- TO MY FRIENDS --
This Buddhism is the Buddhism of 'True Cause'*.
"I'm going to advance even more, from now!"
"Right, from this moment, I'm going to start afresh!"
Always renewing our resolve with such spirited fresh determination,
let's all develop a great future!

*Regarding the spirit of true cause, SGI President Ikeda
said in a dialogue with young people, "The past is the
past and the future is the future. You should keep moving
forward with a steady eye on the future, telling yourself,
"I'll start from today!' 'I'll start afresh from now, from
this moment!' This is the essence of Nichiren Daishonin's
Buddhism of True Cause, the spirit of starting from the
present moment. This is the heart of our daimoku" (World
Tribune, November 1, 1996, p.11).

Similarly, when one knows the Lotus Sutra, one understands
the meaning of all worldly affairs."

One's Passing - The Writings of Nichiren Daishonin, Vol.1,

"Alexander the Great (356-323 B.C.E.) firmly believed that there was
'nothing impossible to true intrepidity.' A history of triumph begins from a
courageous step forwards."
