-- TO MY FRIENDS --
No matter how hard it seems
let us be persistent in discussing our philosophy
to the best of our ability!
The Gosho teaches us to "unrelentingly proclaim"*.
Let us move the hearts of our friends with words of conviction.

* Gosho - On Practicing the Buddha's teaching. WND-1, Page 394. "Now, in the Latter Day of the Law, who is carrying out the practice of shakubuku in strict accordance with the Lotus Sutra? Suppose someone, no matter who, should unrelentingly proclaim that the Lotus Sutra alone can lead people to Buddhahood, and that all other sutras, far from enabling them to attain the way, only drive them into hell. Observe what happens should that person thus try to refute the teachers and the doctrines of all the other schools. The three powerful enemies will arise without fail."

--- DAILY GOSHO ---
"The accepting and upholding of this original Law is expressed in the single word "belief" or "faith." The single word "belief" is the sharp sword with which one confronts and overcomes fundamental darkness or ignorance. The commentary [Words and Phrases] says, "Belief means to be without doubt." You should think about this."

(The Record of the Orally Transmitted Teachings, pages 119-120)

---- DAILY ENCOURAGEMENT ----
The Russian author Leo Tolstoy (1828E910) summarized what he had learned from the teachings of the Buddha he had read: "If people speak and act based on positive ideals, joy will follow them as a shadow follows a body."

(SGI Newsletter No. 7830, SGI President Ikeda's Speech, Young Women's Division Commemorative Gathering, Part 2 of 5. Translated August 4th, 2009)
