"The Lotus Sutra, a Mahayana Buddhist scripture that has been translated into Chinese from Sanskrit, teaches that all people innately possess the supremely noble life-state of Buddhahood. In other words, everyone has the potential to demonstrate unsurpassed capability and strength. How is this achieved? By making what Buddhism calls 'good causes.' The Lotus Sutra says: 'The seeds of Buddhahood sprout through causation' (LSOC2, 75)."
