-- TO MY FRIENDS --
Let's stay accident and incident free and
spend a value-creating time this three-day weekend (in Japan).
Remember that carelessness is our greatest enemy.
Safety always comes first whenever we drive.
Make sure to lock up and double check
all possible fire sources in and around the house every time we go out.

--- DAILY GOSHO ---
"You also are a practitioner of the Lotus Sutra, and your faith is like the waxing moon or the rising tide. Be deeply convinced, then, that your illness cannot possibly persist, and that your life cannot fail to be extended! Take care of yourself, and do not burden your mind with grief."
(The Bow and Arrow - The Writings of Nichiren Daishonin, page 656) Selection Source: SGI President Ikeda's guidance, Seikyo Shinbun September 14th, 2012

---- DAILY ENCOURAGEMENT ----
"The Soka Gakkai has designated numerous commemorative dates. The purpose of those days is to remind ourselves of the origins of the occasion, pass on our history and spirit to future generations, and forge ahead with fresh determination each year.
"If you simply hold special gongyo meetings without them being based on a shared determination or with genuine feeling, it means our organisation has fossilised and degenerated into empty formalism. This is what has happened to the ceremonies of most of the established Buddhist schools, but we must never allow it to happen to us.
"The purpose of commemorative days in the Soka Gakkai is to reconfirm our commitment to kosen-rufu and make a shared pledge for a fresh departure. They should be occasions for inspiring our faith and our spirits. That's why it is important to study and learn about the origins of each commemorative day. Our history and commemorative days only have meaning if we transform them into sources of strength in the present."
