-- TO MY FRIENDS --
Every time waves get thrown up
against great obstacles,
the more the waves increase
in their unyieldingness.
Similarly it's the hardships
and challenges
that we human beings face
that enable us to forge
and strengthen ourselves even more.
Let's advance with
a persevering unwavering spirit!

--- DAILY GOSHO ---
"In judging the relative merit of Buddhist doctrines, I, Nichiren, believe that the best standards are those of reason and documentary proof. And even more valuable than reason and documentary proof is the proof of actual fact."

WND-l page 599)

—— DAILY ENCOURAGEMENT ----
"'Persons who uphold this sutra [the Lotus Sutra], though they may be strangers to one another, will meet on Eagle Peak.* And how much more certain is it that you [Nanjo Tokimitsu] and your late father, because you both have faith in the Lotus Sutra [Nam-myoho-renge-kyo], will be reborn there together!'

— "On the Offering of a Mud Pie" (WND – 2, 500).

"Eagle Peak does not exist in some distant realm. It is the life state of Buddhahood as vast as the universe, that can be gained equally by all who steadfastly practise Nichiren Buddhism, the teaching for attaining Buddhahood in this lifetime. There, the Daishonin says, families, fellow members and mentors and disciples can meet again.

"The ties of those linked by the Mystic Law are eternal. The lives of our fellow members who have passed away are always with us in our hearts as we chant Nam-myoho-renge-kyo. Proof of their attainment of Buddhahood can be found in the ever-growing number of successors who are emerging to carry out the mission of kosen-rufu and inherit their good fortune.

"Filled with boundless hope, let us continue to advance boldly on the great path of kosen-rufu."

Advancing with the Gosho (2), [85] The Eternal Path of Happiness, translated from 15th July, 2019 Seikyo Newspaper, translation released September 2019.

* Eagle Peak, or the Pure Land of Eagle Peak, is a term symbolising the eternal state of Buddhahood.
