-- TO MY FRIENDS --
The key to fostering capable people
is to understand their situations well,
stay close to their hearts
and try to advance together
with them.
Let's offer them
warm, thoughtful words
of encouragement
that reach the depth of their hearts
and make them feel,
"I'm so thankful that he/she
cares so much about me!"

--- DAILY GOSHO ---
"The mystic principle of the true aspect of reality is one, but if it encounters evil influences, it will manifest delusion, while if it encounters good influences, it will manifest enlightenment. Enlightenment means enlightenment to the essential nature of phenomena, and delusion, ignorance of it."

---- DAILY ENCOURAGEMENT ----
"Seventy years ago, at the general meeting held at the end of 1952, Mr. Toda declared: 'Why were we born as human beings? To enjoy life.'

"He taught us that the Lotus Sutra passage 'living beings enjoy themselves at ease' (LSOC16, 272)* [which we recite during gongyo]** applies to our own lives.

"But he also noted: 'Sweets need a pinch of salt to enhance their sweetness. Similarly, without a pinch of hardship, we cannot experience true happiness.'

"So even if it feels like there is too much salt in your life at times, please remember that it will someday become a memory you will savour."

Our Brilliant Human Revolution, Building an Unshakeable Foundation for Human Happiness and Peace, Seikyo Newspaper, 28th December 2022, translation released April 2023.
