[SGI-ToMyFriends-Wagatomo] To My Friends & Daily Gosho Sep 15th + Daily Enc. Sep 16th

* Apologies for those funny shapes/graphics yesterday, one of the problems
of using the hotel's PC and not mine! Hope you could figure things out.
Today is a Japanese press holiday so we will hold "Words of the Week" over
to fill the gap tomorrow. Hope that is OK! All the best and hope you have a
great week.

A translation of President Ikeda's "To My Friends"
published in the Seikyo Shimbun and more.

-- TO MY FRIENDS --
The Daishonin states,
"You will grow younger,
(and your good fortune will accumulate)."*
We are all sincerely praying that all of our noble
senior members (Taho-kai, Hoju-kai, Kinpo-kai) will always
be healthy and brimming with youthful spirits.
Let's all lead victorious lives by earnestly chanting
daimoku for the greatest victory of both ourselves and
the SGI!

Daishonin, Vol.1, page 149) Selection source: "Kyo no

---- DAILY ENCOURAGEMENT ----
"Dr. Wangari Maathai, the Kenyan environmentalist and Nobel
Peace laureate with whom my wife and I enjoy a warm
friendship, wrote: 'Every person who has ever achieved
anything has been knocked down many times. But all of them
picked themselves up and kept going, and that is what I
have always tried to do.' Great individuals do not accept
defeat. I hope you, my young friends, will be people who
are never defeated. Please live with the resolve to brave
difficult challenges, no matter how painful, and triumph
in the end."
