--- DAILY GOSHO ---
"And now the place where Nichiren and his followers chant Nam-myoho-renge-kyo, 'whether...in mountain valleys or the wide wilderness' (chapter twenty-one, Supernatural Powers), these places are all the Land of Eternally Tranquil Light."

(Ongi kuden - Gosho Zenshu, page 781, The Record of the
Orally Transmitted Teachings, page 192) Selection source:

---- DAILY ENCOURAGEMENT ----
"Mr. Toda said: 'Just decide with all the resolve you can muster that you refuse to be defeated, and do your best. With faith in the Daishonin's Buddhism, you can transform anything into benefit, and be able to tap unlimited good fortune. If you triumph in the end, then all your past struggles will turn into fond memories.'

"In the harshest time of winter in my life, when my mentor's businesses were failing, I stood up alone. I chanted with a fervent vow to turn winter into spring. I struggled tirelessly, and I won.

"What is the essence or ultimate purpose of Buddhist study in the SGI? It is to be able to establish clear actual proof of victory in our lives through internalising the Daishonin's teaching that 'winter always turns to spring' together with our mentor."

SGI Newsletter No. 7886,Winter Always Turns to Spring, from the Dec. 2009 issue of Daibyakurenge, the Soka Gakkai monthly study journal, translated Nov. 19th, 2009
