-- TO MY FRIENDS --
Liveliness, courage, a challenging spirit and persistent effort
-- these are the great privileges and attributes
that all young people possess.
Now, our dearest young friends,
as you embark on a new departure in work, at school, etc.,
shine brightly, right where you are,
just like the great star of Venus,

--- DAILY GOSHO ---
"This I will state. Let the gods forsake me. Let all persecutions assail me. Still I will give my life for the sake of the Law."

(The Opening of the Eyes - The Writings of Nichiren Daishonin, Vol.1, page 280)

---- DAILY ENCOURAGEMENT ----
"In one of his writings, Nichiren Daishonin quotes the words: 'We can know a country's rise and fall by whether its tones are happy or sad' (GZ, 88). Inspiring music has the power to open a hope-filled future.

"The triumphant and flourishing realm of Soka always resounds with such bright and rousing music. Above all, we can advance cheerfully in accord with the Mystic Law, the fundamental rhythm that moves the universe, creating a melody of unlimited hope. There is no doubt that this path leads to happiness and victory.

"German author Johann Wolfgang von Goethe (1749-1832) wrote on the beginning of a new year: 'Better days / will unite us again, / Brighter songs, / will strengthen our hearts.' How enjoyable and refreshing the seasons of life are when spent with good friends, enthusiastically engaged together in cultural creativity!"
