-- TO MY FRIENDS --
Let's transform the hardest and most trying moments
into the most enjoyable and memorable ones.
This, in fact, is the way to live life!
Let us together make an all out effort
to create and leave behind a history
that stands out, as the Gosho says,
as a "memory of our present life in this human world."*

* Gosho: Questions and Answers about Embracing the Lotus Sutra – The Writings of Nichiren Daishonin, page 64, "Single-mindedly chant Nam-myoho-renge-kyo and urge others to do the same; that will remain as the only memory of your present life in this human world."

--- DAILY GOSHO ---
"And yet, though one might point at the earth and miss it, though one might bind up the sky, though the tides might cease to ebb and flow and the sun rise in the west, it could never come about that the prayers of the practitioner of the Lotus Sutra would go unanswered."
(On Prayer - The Writings of Nichiren Daishonin, Vol.1, page 345)

---- DAILY ENCOURAGEMENT ----
"One particular lesson to be learned is having the courage to leap directly into the most challenging places on the front lines for the sake of people's happiness. Someone can be skilled, bright, and clever, but if they don't have the courage to stay on the right path, the path of good, then they're lacking in one of the qualities that is most essential of all."

SGI Newsletter No. 8023, Youth Are the Protagonists of the Future, at the graduation ceremony for Soka University and Soka Women's College, held at the Soka University Auditorium in Hachioji, Tokyo, on March 21, 2010. From the March 22nd, 2010, issue of the Seikyo Shimbun, translated June 23rd, 2010
