Youth conventions are now being held with great enthusiasm and vitality
(throughout Japan).
Now is time for new capable young people to stand up.
On our own personal stages in life,
where we each play out very unique roles and missions,
let us unfold the banner of victory!

---- DAILY ENCOURAGEMENT ----
"Mahatma Gandhi (1869–1948) stated: 'If we would but learn the lessons that have to be learnt from our adversity, it will not have been lost upon us. We would emerge from the trial a community richer in social virtues, stronger in the justice of our cause.'[1] If we're always just having a good time, laughing and enjoying ourselves, never experiencing any suffering or hardship, we will not be able to gain anything truly profound or meaningful. It is adversity and challenge that develop character."
SGI Newsletter No. 8378, from SGI President Ikeda's speech at the 34th Soka Gakkai Headquarters Leaders Meeting, held in conjunction with the SGI General Meeting, in Tokyo, on Nov. 14th, 2009. These excerpts were featured in a video of the speech, which was shown during the 53rd Soka Gakkai Headquarters Leaders Meeting, held in conjunction with the SGI General Meeting, in Tokyo, on Nov. 5th, 2011. The excerpted text appeared in the Nov.13th, 2011, issue of the Seikyo Shimbun, the Soka Gakkai daily newspaper, translated Nov. 15th, 2011.
