-- TO MY FRIENDS --
In this Buddhist faith
there is nothing that is meaningless or a waste.
Believing that
"There definitely is some reason why this has occured!"
let's fortify and strengthen our inner resolve!
The moment we take such an approach,
all of our hardships and struggles
turn into the nourishment we need
to become happy!

--- DAILY GOSHO ---
"Although I and my disciples may encounter various difficulties, if we do not harbour doubts in our hearts, we will as a matter of course attain Buddhahood."
(The Opening of the Eyes
- WND, Vol. I, page 283)

---- DAILY ENCOURAGEMENT ----
"Nothing demonstrates the value of the approach we have developed towards life more clearly than when we face adversity. Do we just give up and accept the event as bad luck? Do we hunker down and wait for time to resolve the problem? Do we moan about our misfortune? Do we resent it and blame it on others or our environment?
"Dante Alighieri (1265–1321) wrote in The Divine Comedy:
You men on earth attribute everything
to the spheres' [the heavens'] influence alone, as if
with some predestined plan they move all things.
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
you have the light that shows you right from wrong,
and your Free Will, which, though it may grow faint
in its first struggles with the heavens, can still
surmount all obstacles if nurtured well.[1]
"'Surmounting all obstacles' —this has been the spirit of great sages in all times and places. The wise members of the SGI also lead lives of bravely and spiritedly taking on life's challenges. Encountering adversity is a badge of honour. The key to victory is having the courageous faith of a lion king, confronting every obstacle head-on."
