March 18th-24th, 2019
-- WORDS OF THE WEEK --
"I am the SGI."
Let's stride with such pride!
The Daishonin teaches,
"(The greater the hardships befalling them,)
the greater the delight they feel,
(because of their strong faith)."*
With the indomitable power
of our faith and practice,
let's manifest the immeasurable power
of the Buddha and the Law in our lives!**

---- DAILY ENCOURAGEMENT ----
"Reading is a lifelong treasure. It is a precious source of spiritual nourishment. It is the foundation for all forms of learning. Reading develops the ability to think and broadens our horizons.

"In order to create a positive future, we must learn good lessons from the past. The 20th century was a time of remarkable material progress on the one hand, but the lag in spiritual progress has created a situation in which the very survival of humankind is threatened. That is why we must make the 21st century and age of great spiritual progress."

The Wisdom for Creating Happiness and Peace, Part 3: Kosen-rufu and World peace, Chapter 28: Peace, Culture and Education: The Flowering of a New Humanism, 28.15 Reviving the Culture of the Written Word, from the November 2017 Daibyaku Renge, translation released February 2019
