-- TO MY FRIENDS --
Let's do our best to encourage our friends
who are battling with health problems!
To the family members
who are caring for the sick and elderly,
let's inspire them with hope and reassurance!
Our efforts to try to remove their suffering
and give them joy is an act of a bodhisattva
and it is the noblest path as a Buddhist.*
*removing suffering and giving joy [抜苦与楽]( bakku-yoraku): The practice of compassion in Buddhism. Compassion is interpreted as encompassing the two merciful deeds: saving other people from their sufferings and giving them peace and delight. From its inception Buddhism encourages its followers to rescue people from suffering and give them peace and joy.
