--- DAILY GOSHO ---
"[T'ien-t'ai writes:] 'As practice progresses and understanding grows, the three obstacles and four devils emerge in confusing form, vying with one another to interfere.… One should be neither influenced nor frightened by them. If one falls under their influence, one will be led into the path of evil. If one is frightened by them, one will be prevented from practising the correct teaching.' This statement not only applies to me, but also is a guide for my followers. Reverently make this teaching your own, and transmit it as an axiom of faith for future generations."

---- DAILY ENCOURAGEMENT ----
"How was the Japanese marine adventurer Ken'ichi Horie able to make his dreams come true? He said: 'It comes down to whether you really have a strong wish to achieve your goal. The most important thing is to have passion.'

"He experienced many setbacks on his round-the-world voyages, including his boat being capsised by strong waves and heavy wind. But he kept the flame of his passion burning brightly and encouraged himself with the thought that each obstacle he overcame brought him one step closer to realising his dreams -- and he did just that.

"He is a true challenger. When you transform your dreams into goals, everything becomes enjoyable, he says.

"It takes courage to turn your dreams into goals, rather than leaving them unfulfilled, and to embark on the challenge of realising them."
