-- TO MY FRIENDS --
Let's cherish our neighbourhood!
"A spring is found
  right beneath our feet."*
Peace and kosen-rufu begin in
the local community where we live.
Starting with "me,"
let's develop our circles of friendship!

*I therefore say to you: "Dig beneath your feet, there you will find a spring," and "Live in a way that is true to yourself." In short, a real sense of happiness and deep satisfaction in life can only be found within us. ... This is why the place where we carry out our Buddhist practice and also society become the Buddha land. We are able to transform where we live right now into a place of victory and happiness.

--- DAILY GOSHO ---
"The deeper the roots, the more luxuriant the branches. The farther the source, the longer the stream. All sutras other than the Lotus Sutra have shallow roots and short streams, while the Lotus Sutra has deep roots and a distant source."

(The Farther the Source, the Longer the Stream
- WND, Vol. 1, page 940-941)

---- DAILY ENCOURAGEMENT ----
"Because we base ourselves on the Daishonin's writings, we value diversity in accord with the principle of 'cherry, plum, peach and damson' (cf.OTT, 200). Respecting one another as Buddhas and with the unity of 'many in body, one in mind,' we will achieve all our goals (cf.WND–1, 618)."

Foreword to the New Japanese edition of Nichiren Daishonin's gosho zenshu (The Complete Works of Nichiren Daishonin). From the November 20th, 2021 edition of Seikyo Newspaper, translation released April 2022.
