The Daishonin tells his disciples never to allow themselves to be laughed at by people of this kind. Elsewhere, he writes: 'Slanderers are like barking foxes, but Nichiren's followers are like roaring lions' (WND –1, 997). When a lion roars, foxes flee in terror.
