"'Although it is the Latter Day of the Law, you [Ikegami Munenaga] were born wise and unselfish. You have assured that the three of you [your father, your elder brother and yourself] will attain Buddhahood, and you have opened the way for the enlightenment of your relatives on both parents' sides. Your children and descendants as well are sure to flourish and prosper eternally.'

"Munenaga, the younger of the two Ikegami brothers, deeply took to heart the Daishonin's strict yet compassionate guidance. He was therefore not swayed by temptation or pressure when his elder brother, Munenaka, was disowned by their father and he himself was given the chance to inherit.
"He and his brother united together, along with their wives, and finally succeeded in guiding their father —who had been misled by a corrupt priest—to embrace faith in the Daishonin's teaching.
"Challenging times are opportunities to accumulate indestructible good fortune and benefit. If one person stands up with the unwavering faith of the wise, they can dispel the dark clouds shrouding their family.
"With courage, wisdom and perseverance, let's create a triumphant future of harmony and happiness!"
