"'In the "entrustment" chapter [of the Lotus Sutra], the heavenly gods and benevolent deities pledge to protect the votaries [practitioners] of the Lotus Sutra. Of all the guardian deities in heaven, it is the gods of the sun and the moon who visibly protect us. How can we doubt their protection?'

"From 'The Strategy of the Lotus Sutra' 

(WND–1, 1000).

"Shijo Kingo, to whom these words are addressed, triumphed in an intense struggle with powerful opponents. Why was he able to do so? The Daishonin attributes it to his disciple's 'usual prudence and courage, as well as his firm faith in the Lotus Sutra' (cf. WND–1, 1000).

"Those who practice the Mystic Law can activate the protective functions of the universe and make allies of everyone they encounter.

"Nothing beats the 'strategy of the Lotus Sutra!" With this unshakeable conviction, let's 'summon up the great power of faith more than ever' (WND–1, 1000) and show actual proof of victory."
