-- TO MY FRIENDS --
In Buddhism we have
the principle of
"substituting faith for wisdom."
In other words,
by chanting
strong powerful daimoku,
wisdom comes welling forth
without fail.
Today, again,
let's vigorously advance
with the spirit of creating value!

--- DAILY GOSHO ---
To have faith like water means to believe continuously without ever regressing. Since you visit me constantly, regardless of the difficulties, your belief is comparable to flowing water.

---- DAILY ENCOURAGEMENT ----
"'Because your beloved departed father chanted Nam-myoho-renge-kyo while he was alive, he was a person who attained Buddhahood in his present form, in the same way that stones change into jewels.

'The actions you have taken, then, are the very height of filial piety and concern.'

"The beneficial power of the Mystic Law is eternal. Here, the Daishonin assures us that our deceased love ones who chanted Nam-myoho-renge-kyo while alive attained Buddhahood, just as they were.

"The light of the daimoku we chant for our deceased family members will definitely reach them, whether or not they embraced faith in Nichiren Buddhism in life.

"United by the Mystic Law, we will serenely advance together on the path of eternity, happiness, true self and purity, savouring joy in both life and death.

"Let's honour the memory of our departed loved ones in the best possible way by helping others form positive connections with Nichiren Buddhism and accumulating the treasures of the heart in our lives."

Towards a Hope-Filled Future with the Daishonin's Writings, The Best Way to Honour the Memory of the Deceased, translated from  3rd September, 2022 issue of the Seikyo Newspaper, translation released December 2022.
