"It is important that we respect one another as fellow members and advance in harmonious unity. Unity is what powers kosen-rufu.
"In light of the sutras and Nichiren Daishonin's writings, devilish functions will inevitably arise and try to obstruct the progress of the Soka Gakkai, the organisation dedicated to realising kosen-rufu. They may come from outside the organisation as attacks, and oppression from powerful authorities, or from within the organisation, as jealousy and resentment among the members.
"We must be especially vigilant against destruction from within. If members disparage, resent or speak ill of one another, then no matter how hard they strive in faith, they'll have no joy, and they will gradually erase their benefit and good fortune."
