On the other hand, I rejoice at whatever good fortune enabled me to be born in the last five-hundred-year period and to read these true words of the sutra."

Therefore, if people fail to reform their minds, those systems may become hollow and meaningless, and open to corruption and abuse. If that happens, it won't be possible to build a better society or enable people to enjoy happiness. The high ideals of reform risk being swallowed up and swept away by the ocean of greed of those in power."
