circumstances... But a true champion is able to stand up alone. Please do
that, developing yourselves, and win the respect and trust of all, offering
proof of your personal victory where you are.
"As Nichiren Daishonin writes: 'Only by defeating a powerful enemy can one
prove one's real strength' (WND-1, 302). Only by triumphing over adversity
can one become a champion.
"...Just as a ship overcomes the crashing waves of a rough sea, I hope that
all of you, with the awareness of being the captains of the ship of
kosen-rufu, will overcome the tumultuous waves of life."
