-- TO MY FRIENDS --
Our practice of Buddhism is centred around
how we conduct ourselves as human beings
and how we interact with those around us.*
Let's do our utmost for the sake of our most respect-worthy
and precious fellow members!
Our sincere and caring efforts for the well-being of our friends,
enables us to open up and expand our own life state!
*"'The purpose of the appearance in this world of Shakyamuni Buddha, the lord of teachings, lies in his behaviour as a human being.' (WND-1, 852)

---- DAILY ENCOURAGEMENT ----
"I have a request I would like to ask of you--the noble leaders of kosen-rufu in your countries, individuals who possess an enormous mission. Be role models for the entire world! Never lose sight of the spirit of oneness of mentor and disciple! Be outstanding leaders who, for the benefit and happiness of all the members, possess unflagging conviction, passion, courage, persistence, broad-mindedness, and a sense of responsibility! This is what I really want to say to you today.
"The members of the SGI are all emissaries of Nichiren Daishonin. Irrespective of their positions in the organisation, they are devoting themselves wholeheartedly for the sake of kosen-rufu. Please treasure and respect them to the utmost. Thoroughly support and protect them without fail. Offer them encouragement with warm affection, with care and compassion, so that every person without exception can practice strongly and joyfully. Caring for our members with the same concern we have for our own family--indeed, showing them even greater sincerity--is the hallmark of a genuine leader in the realm of Nichiren Daishonin's Buddhism."
