-- TO MY FRIENDS --
It's time now, for a great voyage to begin!
To all my dear friends from the Shikoku region*,
set sail towards the port of
the absolute victory of mentor and disciple!
Advancing ahead with the power of a charging lion**
let us compose a beautiful melody of our united efforts!

* The Shikoku region lies in the south-western region of Japan comprising of the Ehime, Kagawa, Kochi, and Tokushima prefectures.

** "Reply to Kyo'o", WND-1, Page 412, "The lion king is said to advance three steps, then gather himself to spring, unleashing the same power whether he traps a tiny ant or attacks a fierce animal. In inscribing this Gohonzon for her protection, Nichiren was like the lion king. This is what the sutra means by "the power [of the Buddhas]that has the lion's ferocity."
