-- TO MY FRIENDS --
To all of my dearest friends of Hokkaido,
take on all challenges courageously and enthusiastically,
and may your voices for justice and truth ring out
throughout the land as glorious victors of kosen-rufu!
Let's hoist the flag of complete victory,
no matter how hard it might be,
on the castle of solidarity that was proudly built by the
great struggles of the first three presidents of the Soka Gakkai,
based on the profound mentor and disciple relationship.

* Hokkaido is one the four main islands of Japan located in the north. Hokkaido is the scene of much of the Soka Gakkai's history like the Otaru Debate & Yubari Miners Issue, Mr Makiguchi spent many years working there and Mr Toda was born and raised there.
