From this port city of the shared pledge of mentor and disciple*,
let us create a great solidarity of our movement
by striving together in complete unison!
Let us strive towards justice,
towards a deep and widespread expansion
of the understanding of our philosophy!
* April 24th, 1979, President Daisaku Ikeda was forced to resign as Soka Gakkai President because of malicious, false charges created by the Nichiren Shoshu temple. That day, President Ikeda went directly to the Kanagawa Culture Centre in Yokohama where fellow members warmly welcomed him and determined to stick by his side as he
made an all out effort on a new chapter for kosen-rufu.
