-- TO MY FRIENDS --
On the grand stage of kosen rufu
there is no need to show-off or seek acknowledgement,
nor is there any need to take the back seat or to hesitate in taking action.
Let's make up our minds to do something and do it!
Starting with ourselves,
let's stand up resolutely and create an unprecedented history!

--- DAILY GOSHO ---
"Each of you should summon up the courage of a lion king and never succumb to threats from anyone. The lion king fears no other beast, nor do its cubs."
(On Persecutions Befalling the Sage - The Writings of Nichiren Daishonin, Vol.1, page 997) Selection source: Study for beginners, page 4, Seikyo Shimbun, May 18th, 2010

---- DAILY ENCOURAGEMENT ----
"Philosopher and essayist Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803–82) wrote: 'What a new face courage puts on everything! A determined man, by his very attitude, and the tone of his voice, puts a stop to defeat, and begins to conquer.' Let's win with courage! Don't be devious or self-serving, for everything will start to fall apart from there. Likewise, if you're fainthearted, you can't achieve anything. Faith means being courageous. Courage is key to realising justice. Emerson also wrote: 'The world belongs to the energetic man. His will [i.e., determination] gives him new eyes. He sees expedients and means where we saw none. Everyone hears gladly that cheerful voice.' Our voice is important. Courage is important. A courageous voice spreads goodness: 'The voice does the Buddha's work' (cf. OTT, 4). With courage in our hearts, let's continue to joyfully engage in dialogue with cheerful, vibrant voices to further expand our circle of friendship.
