-- TO MY FRIENDS --
Words of truth spoken with overflowing conviction
cannot fail to move people's hearts.
Just as Nichiren Daishonin "never spared his voice,"(*)
let us continue to speak out fearlessly and boldly.
(*)THE RECORD OF THE ORALLY TRANSMITTED TEACHINGS, "Chapter Four: Belief and Understanding, Six Important Points, Point Four: "For his part, Nichiren has never spared his voice in urging them not to cast aside the Lotus Sutra..."

--- DAILY GOSHO --
"And yet, though one might point at the earth and miss it, though one might bind up the sky, though the tides might cease to ebb and flow and the sun rise in the west, it could never come about that the prayers of the practitioner of the Lotus Sutra would go unanswered."
(On Prayer - The Writings of Nichiren Daishonin, Vol.1, page 345)

---- DAILY ENCOURAGEMENT ----
"Second Soka Gakkai president Josei Toda called out to his beloved disciples: 'Those who have overcome the most trying challenges are able to help others. We have to keep fighting with tireless perseverance. As long as we have courageous faith, there is absolutely no trial or tribulation that we cannot positively transform, changing poison into medicine.'
"Immediately after the Great Hanshin Earthquake of 1995, our members in Kobe began holding what they dubbed 'Rising Phoenix gongyo meetings,' which gave impetus to their steady, forward progress.
"One dedicated women's division member of Ever-victorious Kansai, whose home was destroyed in the quake, said: 'The more I encouraged others, the more the invincible Kansai spirit to never be defeated blazed in my heart. I became stronger. Having learned what it meant to hit rock bottom, I wanted to help fundamentally transform the situation in my community and spread happiness.'"
