-- TO MY FRIENDS --
Spreading their brilliance around as bright beacons of the community and society
are the members of the Farming and Fishing Communities Divisions!*
Your present hardships and struggles are
bound to call forth the season of harvest and of results.
We are constantly praying for your good health and happiness!
* SGI President Ikeda sent the following message to the 14th Nationwide Farming and Fishing Communities Joint Renaissance Experience Meeting, which was broadcast throughout Japan on February 12 and 13, 2011, commemorating Farming Communities and Fishing Communities Divisions Day on February 17. In his message he said:
"I'm sure that working in the farming and fishing industries, amid the vagaries of nature and turbulent changes in the economy, is unimaginably challenging. It must be a series of untold struggles and hardships. But no matter what difficulties may assail you, nothing can take away your joy in sustaining and supporting life together with nature. The greater the adversity you face, the more radiantly your admirable lives shine with nobility."
"The courageous and committed efforts of you, our fearless members of the Farming Communities and Fishing Communities divisions, shine with the brilliant spirit that is the very essence of the Daishonin's Buddhism. As bright beacons of your communities, please strive to build wonderful realms of peace and happiness, advancing wisely, harmoniously, and positively, and in good health and high spirits."

--- DAILY GOSHO ---
"Although I and my disciples may encounter various difficulties, if we do not harbour doubts in our hearts, we will as a matter of course attain Buddhahood. Do not have doubts simply because heaven does not lend you protection. Do not be discouraged because you do not enjoy an easy and secure existence in this life."

---- DAILY ENCOURAGEMENT ----
"Nothing is ever wasted in our efforts for kosen-rufu. Those who are steadfast in their sincerity will triumph and prosper. Such is the realm of Nichiren Daishonin's Buddhism."
