--- DAILY GOSHO ---
"Regard your service to your lord as the practice of the Lotus Sutra. This is what is meant by 'No worldly affairs of life or work are ever contrary to the true reality.'"
(Reply to a Believer - The Writings of Nichiren Daishonin, Vol.1, page 905)
Selection source: President Ikeda's essay - "To My Young Friends", Seikyo Shimbun, May 24th, 2012

---- DAILY ENCOURAGEMENT ----
"It's important to read the Gosho each day—even if just a sentence or a paragraph—making it part of your daily life and activities for kosen-rufu. Do your best to study and understand the Daishonin's message. If you apply yourself earnestly, you'll be able to absorb the meaning of his words into your life, as if by osmosis.

"My mentor, second Soka Gakkai president Josei Toda, said: "You should read each line of the Gosho with a deep personal conviction in its truth." There is a difference between understanding something intellectually and understanding it on the level of faith.

"If you apply the Daishonin's words to your own life, the time is certain to come when you can say, 'Ah, that's what he's talking about!' and you will fully grasp his meaning."

SGI Newsletter No. 8534, Humanistic Teachings for Victory, (4) The Gosho Is the Eternal Foundation of the SGI, from the 21st March, 2012, issue of the Soka Shimpo, the Soka Gakkai youth division's fortnightly newspaper, translated 8th June 2012.
