-- TO MY FRIENDS --
When we talk with friends and exchange thoughts and opinions,
our lives become more enriched.
Come, let's be even more courageous and take one more step forwards!
The Daishonin encourages us,
"The voice carries out the work of the Buddha."*

--- DAILY GOSHO ---

---- DAILY ENCOURAGEMENT ----
"At that Soka Gakkai General Meeting on May 3, 1957, as Mr. Toda was moving into the final chapter of his struggle for kosen-rufu, we reconfirmed the key importance of activities centered on the unit level of the Soka Gakkai—the equivalent to today's group or district.

"Victory at the group or district level is crucial for the development of kosen-rufu. Only when leaders are solidly rooted in the districts and unite together to thoroughly support the groups will we see new capable individuals emerge and fresh energy well forth.

"During his life-threatening exile on Sado Island, the Daishonin wrote a letter to Shijo Kingo and his wife Nichigen-nyo, when one of their children was battling a severe illness. He told them: 'When I am pardoned from exile in this province, I will hasten to Kamakura where we will meet. If we consider the power of the Lotus Sutra, we will find perpetual youth and eternal life before our eyes' (WND-1, 412–13). He indicates that he would like to rush to their side to support them, and urges them to defeat the devil of illness, assuring them that his thoughts are with them. We can sense the Daishonin's profound compassion in his words of encouragement.

"Making an effort to visit people, talk with them in person, chant with them, and strive alongside them—this spirit of the Daishonin is alive and strong at the group and district levels of the SGI. Therefore, let's chant joyous daimoku, foster capable Bodhisattvas of the Earth, and raise high the banner of victory from our districts!

"The German philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche (1844–1900) wrote: 'In order to grow big, a tree wants to strike roots into hard rocks!'[1]"
