[SGI-ToMyFriends-Wagatomo] 14th - 20th Aug., 2017 Words of the Week, 14th Aug. Daily Gosho and 15th Aug. Daily Encouragement

A translation of "Word of the Week" published in the Seikyo Shinbun based on President Ikeda's recent guidance, and more.

August 14th - 20th, 2017
-- WORDS OF THE WEEK --
In the fierce heat, or on stormy days,
it's precisely because of
the selfless dedication
of our noble "uncrowned heroes,"
who bring to us so regularly
our organisational
newspapers and magazines
that the chime of daybreak
for kosen-rufu's advancement
rings out loud and clear.
Let's all be sure to express to them
how deeply we appreciate
their great efforts!
And let's all brim with such life force
that is just like the dawn of the rising sun!

--- DAILY GOSHO ---
"I entrust you with the propagation of Buddhism in your province. It is stated that 'the seeds of Buddhahood sprout as a result of conditions, and for this reason they preach the single vehicle.'"

(The Properties of Rice
- WND, Vol.I, page 1117)

---- DAILY ENCOURAGEMENT ----
"The second requirement is to persist in walking the great path of oneness of mentor and disciple. Inheriting the spirit of the mentor, who exemplifies selfless dedication to propagating the Law, the disciples must thoroughly study the mentor's teachings and make them a guide for their actions and behaviour. Each day, disciples should challenge themselves in their lives and in their efforts for kosen-rufu, always embracing and engaging in dialogue with the mentor in their hearts and reflecting on what the mentor would do in their place."
