-- TO MY FRIENDS --
Complaining erases our good fortune
while on the other hand
chanting daimoku of appreciation
builds up our happiness that lasts for eternity.
If we make the effort to change ourselves
so as to elevate our life condition,
the circumstances and surroundings
that we are in now
are certain to become better!

--- DAILY GOSHO ---
"Nam-myoho-renge-kyo is like the roar of a lion. What sickness can therefore be an obstacle?"
(Reply to Kyō'ō
- WND, Vol. 1, page 412)
Selection Source: "Kyo no Hosshin,"
Seikyo Shinbun: August 30th, 2017

---- DAILY ENCOURAGEMENT ----
"'Tan, the Duke of Chou, was so earnest in receiving callers that he would wring out his hair three times in the course of washing it, or spit out his food three times in the course of a meal [in order not to keep them waiting]. Consider this carefully so that you will have no cause to reproach me later. What is called Buddhism is found in this behaviour.'
- From "The Three Kinds of Treasure" (WND-1, 851).
"These words are addressed to Shijo Kingo, warning him not to let his short temper get the better of him.
"The true spirit of Buddhism pulses in behaviour that demonstrates humanity and common sense; it is found in courtesy, sincerity, and warm consideration.
"We strive to spread heart-to-heart ties in our communities as good citizens. We make efforts to catch up and converse with old friends as well as make new friends. Friendship is one of life's greatest treasures, and the trust of others is a source of infinite pride and honour.
"Treating each person with respect, let's wisely form good friendships with many people!"
