"'No matter where he [your late father, Nanjo Hyoe Shichiro] may be now, your [Nanjo Tokimitsu's] filial devotion will surely be recognised even by King Yama and the heavenly kings Brahma and Shakra. And how could Shakyamuni Buddha and the Lotus Sutra ever abandon him?'

"The Mystic Law has the boundless beneficial powers to illuminate our lives, transcending the bounds of life and death. Therefore, our prayers for the happiness of those who have passed away will reach them without fail and help guide them to Buddhahood. Nichiren Daishonin assures us of this.
"Chanting Nam-myoho-renge-kyo ourselves and teaching others to do the same as we carry out activities for kosen-rufu is the best possible way for us to repay our gratitude to our parents. Indeed, our daimoku embraces all of our family members and loved ones throughout the three existences of past, present and future. Let us forever make our way together with them on our shared journey of eternity, happiness, true self and purity, protected by all the Buddhas and positive forces of the universe."
