with what others can do
and lamenting that you can't,
remember that
happiness comes from those
who joyfully go about thinking,
"I can even do this!"
Let's live every day
with the intent to fulfil
our own very unique mission!

Although I and my disciples may encounter various difficulties, if we do not harbour doubts in our hearts, we will as a matter of course attain Buddhahood. Do not have doubts simply because heaven does not lend you protection. Do not be discouraged because you do not enjoy an easy and secure existence in this life.

"Mr. Makiguchi stressed that unless we carry out bodhisattva practice, we cannot attain Buddhahood. By striving in bodhisattva practice towards realising the Daishonin's ideal of 'establishing the correct teaching for the peace of the land,' we are advancing along the path of Buddhahood together with our great predecessor."
