"This year will mark the 75th anniversary of my first encounter with my mentor, Josei Toda,* and the start of my journey united in the spirit of the oneness of mentor and disciple. Mr. Toda often used to say: 'In life, hope is crucial. As long as you have hope, you can move forwards. You can take on any challenge. You can make it through.' I also recall him saying: 'Those who can live out their lives with a youthful spirit, a youthful life condition, are truly admirable.'"
