"'[How is one to know the correct view in Buddhism?] It can be neither discerned with our physical eyes nor perceived with our shallow wisdom. We should use the sutras as our eyes and give precedence to the wisdom of the Buddha.'

"From 'Reply to Hoshina Goro Taro' (WND–1, 155).

"We are in an age rife with negative influences. We mustn't be led astray by false wisdom. With the clear, penetrating eyes of faith, let's keenly discern what is true and false, right and wrong, profound and shallow.

"By chanting Nam-myoho-renge-kyo each day to fulfil our vow for kosen-rufu, let's bring forth the wisdom of the Buddha, substituting faith for wisdom,* and create value out of every situation as we continue working for happiness and peace.

"Basing ourselves on the writings of Nichiren Daishonin and striving with the wisdom of the Middle Way found therein, let's impart hope-filled encouragement to our friends! Let's expand our positive network in our communities and societies!"
