In the "Week of Encouragement,"* 

let's focus on home visits 

and personal encouragement, 

even more than usual,
and kindle a light of hope 

in the heart of each member!*
Nichiren Daishonin teaches us,
"One's thoughts are expressed 

in one's voice."**
"A person can know another's mind 

by listening to the voice."**
To our dear fellow members 

who are challenging adversity,

let's offer warm caring words 

of encouragement!
Let's inspire fresh new 

enthusiasm and energy!

*In Japan, "Encouragement Week" is designated as the week before 'Zadankai - Discussion Meeting - Week' or a 'Satellite Broadcast of the Headquarters Leaders' Meeting' to do home visits and personal encouragement of each member.

**"On the other, it is to voice what one truly has in mind. Thus one's thoughts are expressed in one's voice. The mind represents the spiritual aspect, and the voice, the physical aspect. The spiritual aspect manifests itself in the physical. A person can know another's mind by listening to the voice."

"'Those who believe in the Lotus Sutra are as if in winter, but winter always turns to spring. Never, from ancient times on, has anyone seen or heard of winter turning back to autumn. Nor have we ever heard of a believer in the Lotus Sutra, who turned into an ordinary [unenlightened] person. (WND–1, 536)

"Winter always turns to spring— this is an unchanging law of nature. Winter never turns back into autumn. In the same way, those who sincerely devote themselves to faith in the Mystic Law throughout their lives, will never remain deluded ordinary people. The Daishonin promises they will attain the life state of Buddhahood and triumphantly welcome a spring of happiness and victory."
