The daimoku of  

Nam-myoho-renge-kyo,
"illuminates the darkness 

of birth and death, 

making it clear."*
As we offer prayers 

for our cherished deceased,
and as we chant for 

advancing the happiness of their heirs,

everything begins with our 

daily gongyo and daimoku!

*"Today, when Nichiren and his followers recite the words Nam-myoho-renge-kyo, they are illuminating the darkness of birth and death, making it clear, so that the wisdom fire of nirvana may shine forth."
