-- TO MY FRIENDS --
All the activities that we, the SGI, are taking,
are a movement to change the undercurrent
of this age for the better.
It is the challenging initiative to steer the current in
the direction of happiness for all people and the
peace and prosperity of society.
* 'Establishing the correct teaching for the peace of the
land' is the most basic philosophy for correcting the
fundamental impurities of life and realising security for
human society as a whole. There is no way that the
Daishonin intended this ideal for Japan alone. Achieving
world peace and bringing happiness to all humanity is the
purpose of our Buddhist movement. Humankind now stands at
an important crossroads. Will we descend into a world of
violence and fear? Or will we construct a world of peace
and security?
We must overcome war--the interminable karmic disease of
humankind--and actualise the principle of 'establishing
the correct teaching for the peace of the land' on a
global scale. That can only be realised through each
individual effecting a change in the very core of their
life. "A great human revolution in just a single individual can
contribute to a change in the destiny of all humankind."
We are standing in the very forefront of this magnificent revolution.
