Let's really put our best into finding and developing capable new people.*
The areas that wholeheartedly do this are the areas where victory will occur.
With the fresh strength and capabilities of new people on our side
let's set sail on a new journey towards the future.
* On their way back, General Director Koichi Harayama said to Shin'ichi: "With the
formation of new chapters and the present growth of the organization, many more
leaders will be needed. But in reality, there just aren't that many capable people. I
feel, for example, that today's chapter chiefs are a far cry from their counterparts
in the past."
"I disagree," Shin'ichi said. "Capable people definitely exist. The question is
whether our leaders can find them."
"Oh...."
"People can't help judging others according to their own standards. If you're logical
and systematic, for example, you'll probably see ability in those who are also
methodical and analytical. On the other hand if you are impulsive and not prone to
giving matters much thought, you'll tend to regard those with similar tendencies as
capable. Also, if you are extremely self-centred and full of your own importance, you
cannot appreciate people's strengths or good points. Instead, you'll only see their
faults.
"Ultimately, the ability to find capable people depends on whether we can see
others' strengths. And the only way to do this is to develop our own life-condition."
