-- TO MY FRIENDS --
At the same time as our readership of Seikyo Newspaper
and our other SGI weekly or monthly publications increases the kosen-rufu movement advances.
Let's be sure to start off by expressing our respect and appreciation
to all those members who in charge of promoting our SGI publications
and then all the other people who unceasingly make a tremendous effort in their promotion.
May you all, the champions who take on every challenge
to prove the power of the pen for the sake of justice and truth,
shine with glory and victory!

*"Shin'ichi was firmly and deeply determined. 'Kosen-rufu is a struggle of words,' he thought, "Without words that encourage people, without words that demonstrate the truth of Buddhism and the correctness of the Soka Gakkai's movement, kosen-rufu will never advance."

"The Seikyo Shimbun must become a wellspring of philosophy, an indomitable bastion of the pen foremost in the entireworld." (The New Human Revolution, Vol. 10, "Bastion of the Pen" chapter)

--- DAILY GOSHO ---
"Were they not Bodhisattvas of the Earth, they could not chant the daimoku."

(The True Aspect of All Phenomena - The Writings of Nichiren Daishonin, Vol.1, page )

---- DAILY ENCOURAGEMENT ----
""We can't transform our karma or carry out our human revolution unless we strive our hardest, to the point of tears. That's why from the perspective of Buddhism, there's nothing as precious as a struggle.

"...Without effort, you'll never experience joy or perfect your character. I hope all of you will also strive tirelessly for kosen-rufu and polish yourselves in the process.

"As the renowned Irish poet William Butler Yeats (1865-1935) wrote: 'Joy is of the will which labours, which overcomes obstacles, which knows triumph.'"
SGI Newsletter No. 8073, The New Human Revolution--Vol. 23: Chap. 4, Bold Struggle 43, translated Sep.2nd, 2010
