---- DAILY ENCOURAGEMENT ----
"In the 'Emergence of the Treasure Tower' (11th) chapter of the Lotus Sutra, Many Treasures Buddha and the Buddhas of the ten directions who are emanations of Shakyamuni gather in the presence of Shakyamuni. Why do they do this? Citing the sutra, Nichiren Daishonin states in 'The Opening of the Eyes' that they do so in order to make certain that the Law will long endure and, more specifically, 'to insure the future propagation of the Lotus Sutra so that it can be made available to all the children of the Buddha in times to come' (WND-1, 286).

"The focus of the Lotus Sutra, in other words, is the future propagation of the Mystic Law. From the perspective of the Buddha, the main concern is leading 'all the children of the Buddha in times to come'--namely, all living beings of the future--to enlightenment. Kosen-rufu is the noble undertaking of 'enabling all living beings to attain Buddhahood in the ten thousand years of the Latter Day of the Law' (OTT, 41). Towards that end, it is essential that we foster a steady stream of capable individuals. This is why to encourage a single youth division or future division member serves to create incredible value for the sake of kosen-rufu.

"...Our efforts to foster capable individuals for kosen-rufu are extremely crucial in building the future. As the Daishonin states: 'If you want to understand what results will be manifested in the future, look at the causes that exist in the present' (WND-1, 279). What matters are the concrete actions we take now in order to ensure future victory."
