-- TO MY FRIENDS --
For those who are making a desperate and passionate effort to achieve
their goals or to overcome their problems,
there is no wall, no obstacle that can get in their way.
All the hardships that you experience along the way
will definitely become your treasures in life.
Let's all do our absolute utmost to challenge what we're up against
and emerge the victors, the ones who have succeeded!

--- DAILY GOSHO ---
"The spirit within one's body of five or six feet may appear in just one's face, which is only a foot long, and the spirit within one's face may appear in just one's eyes, which are only an inch across."

---- DAILY ENCOURAGEMENT ----
"...our efforts for dialogue aim to deepen and broaden the bonds between people. This could be called, I suppose, an expansion of an alliance of people dedicated to good.

"In The Record of the Orally Transmitted Teachings, the Daishonin states: ''Joy' means that oneself and others together experience joy.... Both oneself and others together will take joy in their possession of wisdom and compassion' (OTT, 146).

"What is the aim of our dialogues? It is to manifest our Buddha nature and help others do the same. In other words, it is to reveal the supreme good within us that shines with wisdom and compassion.

"...But if this were a simple task, we wouldn't have to strive so hard.

"The Lotus Sutra describes the wisdom of the Buddha as 'difficult to believe and difficult to understand' (LSOC7, 173). Most people can't believe that they inherently possess the noble life-state of Buddhahood within them. They don't realise that their own life is a precious treasure with infinite potential.

"While there are some people who put themselves down, there are also others who look down on others, thinking arrogantly that they are special, and unable to believe that all people are equally respectworthy. I'm sure many of you...have had experiences in which you shared the Daishonin's Buddhism with others, but they just didn't seem to understand it.

"Ultimately, the dialogues we in the Soka Gakkai undertake are a struggle against the devilish functions within life that create unhappiness and division, a struggle against the delusion or ignorance that gives rise to mistrust and hatred,

"The Daishonin writes of the intensity of this struggle:

The devil king of the sixth heaven has roused the ten kinds of troops and, in the midst of the sea of the sufferings of birth and death, is at war with the votary of the Lotus Sutra to stop him from taking possession of and to wrest away from him this impure land where both ordinary people and sages dwell. (WND-2, 465)

"Sharing the Daishonin's Buddhism, expanding friendship, doing home visits--all of these are an expression of respect for others' Buddha nature. In our society where egoism and mistrust seem to abound, a gathering like the Soka Gakkai that believes in and takes action for others to this extent is surely difficult to find."
