-- TO MY FRIENDS --
Nichiren Daishonin assures us that
"Nam-myoho-renge-kyo is like the roar of a lion"*
Let us never allow ourselves to be defeated
by the obstacles of sickness!
Based on our unshakable conviction in our prayer,
let us summon forth and unleash our great life force
(to battle sickness) from within!
* Gosho, Reply to Kyo'o - WND-1, page 412, "Nam-myoho-renge-kyo is like the roar of a lion. What sickness can therefore be an obstacle?"

--- DAILY GOSHO ---
"This sutra is superior to all other sutras. It is like the lion king, the monarch of all the creatures that run on the ground, and like the eagle, the king of all the creatures that fly in the sky."
(The Sutra of True Requital - The Writings of Nichiren Daishonin, Vol.1, page 929)

---- DAILY ENCOURAGEMENT ----
"In 'The Opening of the Eyes,' Nichiren Daishonin writes: 'This is my vow, and I will never forsake it!' (WND-1, 281). A life dedicated to fulfilling a vow or commitment is the happiest life there is. Those who sincerely continue their efforts to actualise their commitment, undefeated by the harshest storms of adversity, are true champions, true victors.
"We, the members of the Soka Gakkai, walking the path of mentor and disciple, are striving to fulfil a great and noble vow--a great commitment that we never lose sight of, waking or sleeping. This is the vow to work for kosen-rufu, the mission entrusted to us by Nichiren Daishonin. Pledging to propagate the Mystic Law in the evil age of the Latter Day, we have voluntarily chosen to be born as Bodhisattvas of the Earth.
"My mentor, second Soka Gakkai president Josei Toda, articulated that vow as 'eradicating misery from the face of the earth.' As long as misery exists on this planet, the struggle of the Soka Gakkai continues.
