-- TO MY FRIENDS --
Those who are humble to learn from others
and appreciate what they learn are truly broad-minded.
It is with such a beautiful heart their faith radiantly manifests itself.

--- DAILY GOSHO ---
"What can we say, then, of persons who are devoting themselves to Buddhism? Surely they should not forget the debts of gratitude they owe to their parents, their teachers, and their country. But if one intends to repay these great debts of gratitude, one can hope to do so only if one learns and masters Buddhism, becoming a person of wisdom."

(On Repaying Debts of Gratitude - The Writings of Nichiren Daishonin, page 690)

---- DAILY ENCOURAGEMENT ----
"Our discussion meetings, a tradition since the Soka Gakkai's founding, are 'gatherings of Buddhas.' They brim with the vow to help everyone we share a connection with become happy and attain Buddhahood in this lifetime, and to make our communities flourish as realms of happiness, peace, and prosperity based on the humanistic principles of Nichiren Buddhism. That's why attending discussion meetings is a source of immeasurable benefit. They also provide a forum where members can study Buddhism, bring their lives to shine with the joy of Buddhahood, and move forwards reinvigorated and revitalised. In addition, hearing members' experiences in faith at discussion meetings can inspire participants to face the challenges in their lives with a renewed sense of determination.

"Discussion meetings are the most uplifting, enjoyable, friendly, and warm realms of mutual encouragement to be found anywhere."

SGI Newsletter No. 8704, Forging Ahead Joyfully and Harmoniously from Our Discussion Meetings, from the February 2013 issue of Daibyakurenge, the Soka Gakkai monthly study journal, translated 17th Jan., 2013
